Soakin' in the Sand ACTION!

Is it really only Tuesday?? Please say it ain't so! How I would love to just bury my head in the sand and pretend it's weekend. Sigh. That would be dramatic, though, and that's not really how I roll.

Instead, I would rather live it up and enjoy the sand action shots of today :)

Flying to the moon ACTION!
Death Valley National Park in California is where we find Andrea's high flyin' desert shot. Doesn't it look like she could just fly her way right outta there?!

Sahara sand ACTION!
Across the globe to Er Ranchidia, Morocco is where we catch Eikzilla's sand soaked shot. The Sahara desert is quite the action shot playground, isn't it?!

Gumby ACTION!

I am absolutely in awe of all you flexible folks out there! Try as I may, I am not - nor will I ever be - a flexible gal. Hell, I can't even touch my toes while my feel are firmly planted on the ground, let alone while I'm flying through the air in the midst of a jump!

I won't lie - today's shots make me just a weeee bit jealous...BUT, they also make a LOTTA bit happy, so enjoy :)

Pink Palace ACTION!
If this isn't impressive, I don't know what is! Brent's shot taken at the Pink Palace Museum in Memphis, Tennessee even has the security guard doing a double-take!

Leapin' lizzard ACTION!
Holy (jumping) cow! Check out the high flying skills of my pal, Amanda in Los Angeles, California. Not only can she do the in air splits, but she does it 6 flippin' feet off the ground! Simply amazing!

On Top of the World ACTION!

First, let me start by throwing out a big ol' HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the Pops out there!!! I don't get to be with my D so please give yours a big hug for all of us who can't yet.

Now, let's climb to the highest mountain and celebrate the beauty of life and all that surrounds it with some great outdoors action shots :)

Poster Girl ACTION!

Some of you may remember a previous post which featured the wonderful photography of Carina Olsen. Well, she's back! And this time it's her gorgeous daughter who is doing the jumping.

Little Ms. Alana is, perhaps, our youngest fan. She visits the blog every, single day and then practices new jumps as inspired by all of you! Looks like we've got our very first aspiring ACTION! Shot model among us - how stinkin' cute is that?!?

Pretty in pink ACTION!

Galveston Island fun ACTION!

Practice makes perfect ACTION!

Brooklyn Bridge ACTION!

The Brooklyn Bridge - one amazing backdrop, two very different jumps! Apparently New York is not only the city that never sleeps, but it's also the city that never stops jumping :)

I heart NY ACTION!
First, we have Giacomo's shot, which shows us just how big and impressive this amazing bridge really is. I love the hat...I love that he is the only one seen in the shot...and I love the shadow cast from the jump!

Big Apple ACTION!
...then we have Ben's shot, which shows us just how big and impressive this amazing city really is. And if you look closely and you can see the flash of the peace sign...I love it!

Hang tight - I have a TON more bridge shots to share soon. Hopefully I'll have even more after you get out there and take some bridge action shots of your own :)

Architectural ACTION!

Some days you wake up and you just feel like trying something different. You've done the field jump & the backyard jump, the living room jump & the beach jump. Today it's time for something new. Today it's time for...(drum roll please)...the building jump!

Let us pay homage to those peeps who are willing to embrace the action shot in front of the crowd of curious onlookers who have come to witness architectural art from all over the world :)

Good Will Hunting ACTION!
We begin with Katie's shot outside the Dome (aka Building #10) at Killian Court on the MIT campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I love that she is facing building head-on, as if beckoning all the wisdom that school embodies!

National Assembly ACTION!
Next, we travel all the way to Budapest, Hungary, where we find Ivika's shot from outside the Parliament . Located on the bank of the Danube, this is currently the largest building in Hungary, which makes it a wonderful backdrop for some great action!

Walk like an Egyptian ACTION!
We end with the oldest architectural masterpiece of the bunch - Xosé's shot with daughter Ana from Abu Simbel, Egypt...just outside the Temple of Nefertari. Located on the bank of Lake Nasser, this "Nubian Monument" originally dates back to the 13th century BC - could this be the oldest site for an action shot yet?!?

There are architectural works of genius everywhere. Find one near you today and introduce it (and the tourists around it) to the wonderful world of the kick ass action shot! :)

Black & White ACTION!

Let's take a trip back in time...back when life presented in black and white. I love the technicolor experience of today just as much as the next person, but there is something to be said of the simplicity black & white provides - particularly when we are talking action :)

Life is a dance ACTION!
Kathleen's shot of pal Lauren in a Savannah, Georgia park is simply perfect!

Now or never ACTION!
Next, we have the sense of freedom portrayed by Kyle's shot from Kungsbacka, Sweden.

It's the wave ACTION!
And we wrap up today from Toronto, Canada, with Emily's fabulous group shot.

Take a moment today to step back to the world of black and white - let's see those shade of gray action shots of your own :)

Just Some Random Tuesday ACTION!

No rhyme or reason for today's shots - just a lot of great action :)

Spread your wings ACTION!
Courtney, from Indiana, not only took this super sweet shot, but she also tagged it with an absolutely perfect quote by Ray Bradbury, "Living at risk is jumping off the cliff and building your wings on the way down".

Backyard bounce ACTION!
Shelbi's perfectly captured shot from Draper, Utah makes me 1). really want a trampoline, 2). really want a mountain view from my backyard, and 3). SMILE...big time!

Here I come ACTION!
I love Lyndsey's self-portrait from Edmond, Oklahoma. Look very closely and you will spy her keys jumpin' out of her pocket.

Are you feeling random today? Show us how...get out there and show me some random action of your own :)

A Moment In Time ACTION!

Now, I'm a sucker for the traditional action shot...the ones where the movement actually jumps off the shot and you truly feel the thrill of the jump! Recently, however, I've found myself really enjoying the shot that looks as if time is standing still, where the jumper is simply and calmly suspended in air.

Today, we pay homage to those lovely shots I like to call the anti-action shots :)

Turn the page ACTION!
This shot by Amanda, taken in California State University's Long Beach library (CSULB), is one of my all time faves. It combines my love of the action shot with my passion for books - doesn't get much better than that!

Calm, cool, collected ACTION!
What I love most about this great shot by Jami is the surreal silence of the capture - it's truly a snapshot of time taken of an adorable kid in Detroit.

Fountain of love ACTION!
Last, but certainly not least, we come to Jessica's shot from Los Angeles. Taken of her hubby at Mulholland Fountain near Griffith Park, they return each year on their anniversary to jump in celebration of love, life, and commitment - how cool is that?!?

Your turn! Take a moment to freeze time in your neighborhood - let's see those "anti-action" shots of your own :)

We're Baaaaack ACTION!

Phew! What a trip!! We worked hard, we played hard...and now it's back to reality. Trying to find my old, everyday groove takes some work, I tell ya! It's going to take me awhile to get fully settled but starting today, I'm happy to report that's it's back to my regular, daily post schedule - woot!

Those of you who know me won't be surprised that I took a TON of pictures while away ;) Obviously, a good many of them were action shots...so, without further ado...I give you a little taste of ACTION, Canada style!

Let the fun begin ACTION!
The staff party at the Hyatt Regency in Montreal spilled into the hall...we are a jovial bunch, I tell ya ;)

Will jump for beer ACTION!
Oh, who doesn't love Canadian beer?? Jenn sure does - particularly beer in Old Montreal ;)

I spy the Fairmont ACTION!
Oh! Quebec City - with it's Fairmont hotel, cobble stone streets, and a TON of middle school kids everywhere you turn (check out the class shot in the background)

It's a wrap ACTION!This shot was taken on our last day, after everything was packed up and pure exhaustion was in full force. Somehow we managed to muster the energy for some staff action - to bid another ACVIM Forum farewell!

Trust me, there are more...but I don't want to send you into over load after such a long break! What I DO want, however, is to see what everyone else has been up to - let me see some of your action from the past few week...surely you've been jumping, right?!? ;)
