Adios August ACTION!

And then it was done. Adios, August...how quickly you've passed! Soon, Summer will be a thing of the past and we will be welcoming Autumn into our lives. Let's not get ahead of ourselves, though - we've still got a ton of great action to get through, first :)

First stop - Greenville, South Carolina, where we find Mesmery Blake's shot of Mikey & the gang. Also known as the "Jedi of Jump", Mikey not only serves our country as a US Marine, but he also has an entire group on Flickr, Jump for Mikey, created in his honor. Talk about one impressive guy!

Happy Sunday, everyone! It's a cool, overcast day here in Denver. Normally, I would be very happy with this weather, but today is the first home (preseason) game for the Broncos & it's going to be HUGE (Broncos vs. Bears, Cutler vs. McDaniels, big deal for us locals).

I would love nothing more then for it to be nice & sunny for the game, so I'm channeling the fun in the sun from today's wet n' wild shots - hope it works :)

On a serious note - yesterday I learned of the death Eddie Ogburn, of an old friend of my sister's. He was a bright, successful, much loved young man of only 28 years old who was killed by a drunk driver only one block from his home. Please take a moment to say a prayer for his family...and make sure to hug your loved ones - you simply never know what tomorrow will bring. AND DON'T DON'T DON'T DRINK & DRIVE...EVER!!!

There's something to be said for metropolitan action - jumping in the hustle & bustle of a city, with people and buildings and industry all around. Today we pay homage to those who like to jump right in the middle of it all :)

Today, my thoughts are with the Swan/Blagg family. It's a day of remembrance for Tony - a wonderful son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend who was taken far too soon. Please, take the time to give a great big ol' hug to those you love...and pause for some action in honor of those no longer with us :)

Kingdom of Scotland ACTION!

A few months back, Barry O'Neil & his wife took a super cool trip to Scotland. They turned this super cool trip even COOLER by making it a point to stop for some action as often as possible. Brilliant, I tell ya!

Today, we will admire a handful of the nearly 50 shots they took over the course of a couple holidays. Enjoy :)

Jumping tour of Scotland ACTION!

Dornie is the home of the Eilean Donan Castle. Around since the 6th Century, Barry sure choose a historic site to jump!

Dunberg is where we see Barry jumping in front of Dunstaffnage Castle. Another oldie but goody with this 13th Century gem!

For this shot, they moved near Elgol, on the Isle of Skye. Can't beat those rolling hills and bright blue sky!

Talisker Bay, also found in the Isle of Skye, is where this last jump took place. I love the sand etching - makes this shot all the more exciting!

Makes you want to take a jumping tour of a near by country, doesn't it?! Something to keep in mind during your next vaction :)

Gray Day ACTION!

I'm sick. Boo! I hate Summer colds - they make everything gray and dreary. But do not fear - a little cough & sneezing can't stop the action :)

So, I'm going to try something new today. Since my lack of Monday love is no surprise, I'm going to try to pretend I'm excited it's Monday. I figured, maybe I could trick my brain into thinking it's a great day...one to celebrate rather then dread?? Who know if it'll work - but at least we're on the right track with these great action shots :)

So, here I find myself seriously dragging after a weekend of nonstop festivities. Not that I'm complaining - it was fabulous to be surrounded by my favorite peeps all weekend long - but I don't anticipate much motivation today! My plan? Ahhhh, It's Good To Be Home ACTION!

Man, it seems like I was just writing that I was leaving for vacation, and now I'm back, in what seems like the blink of an eye, dreading the return to work & responsibility. I'm not all complaints, however - it's good to be home with Mr. Lover & the zoo...and I'm excited to start working on the 500+ pictures from the trip :)

The whole place was a huge tourist trap, but we loved it! But then again, who doesn't love random road trip pit stops?!

Other highlights from the trip? Peaks of Otter Lodge (remote, at best), Haunted Monster Museum (highly entertaining!), Dinosaur Kingdom (random, random, random), Cascade Falls (reminded me just how out of shape I am), Natural Bridge Caverns (cold), hours of lounging on the lake, and even more hours of card games, Outburst, and giggles!

Good times, indeed!! :)

So, I'm a liar...

...and didn't get posted as promised last week :( I obviously thought I would be a bit more productive on vacation then I really was...oops!

I'm slated to get home later tonight so hopefully we'll be back on track tomorrow.
